DRAFTING ROOM is a student-led architecture and design organization at UW–Madison to connect students interested in architecture and the built environment.

We bring together students across disciplines including interior architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, and beyond through design projects, workshops, discussions, competitions, firm visits, and professional opportunities.

Our goal is to build a stronger, more collaborative architecture community on campus where students can create, exchange ideas, and learn from one another outside the classroom.

Mission

  1. Connect students across Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Engineering, and Urban Planning through a shared interest in the built environment.

  2. Design hands-on design opportunities through charrettes, competitions, semester-long projects, and the DRAFTING ROOM Exhibition.

  3. Learn about architecture beyond the classroom through resources, professionals, firms, and real-world experiences.
